WHERE DID I COME FROM?
There is a God who created the heavens and the earth and every living thing in it. It is God who created all human life and has given life to each individual. He created you and this is where your life came from. We were all created in the image of our Creator. He is likened to a Father in heaven, and he is a good Father who loves us all very much. God knows you and loves you because He created you. He is a very intimate and personal God whom you can know on a very personal level. He is not far away and unknowable, but is very near to us and knowable.
WHY AM I HERE?
God brought you to this earth for a very special purpose. This was to enjoy a very real and personal relationship with the One who gave you life. God only desired that you know Him and be in right relationship with Him, both in this life and then onto eternity forever. But something happened to cause a break in the relationship between man and God.
THE PROBLEM
The problem is sin. It is our own sin that causes separation from God. We were all born with a sinful nature that naturally rebels against God. It is your own sin that causes you to not be able to know God or have a relationship with God.
“Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.” -John 3:19
The penalty for our sin is death…eternal separation from God in a place of torment and judgement called Hell. This is the destination for all people unless something is done about it. We are all going to stand before a holy God who hates sin and will not tolerate any sin to enter into His eternal kingdom.
WHAT IS SIN?
Sin can be defined as anything we do (or don’t do), say, and even think, that isn’t pleasing to God. It’s basically disobedience to God and rebellion against God. It’s the breaking of His moral Law as given to us in the Ten Comandments. But the one sin that will send a person to eternal judgment separated from God and loved ones forever in a place called Hell is that of not believing in Jesus Christ and the work He did on the cross to sacrifice Himself for our sins. It’s called the Sin of Unbelief. This is the one deadly sin that will send you to Hell for eternity.

“He that believes in Jesus will have eternal life: and he that does not believe in Jesus will not see life; but the wrath of God remains on him.” -John 3:36

We then all do sinful things, which is a result of our sin of unbelief. We all sin and live as enemies of God and in open rebellion to Him. We do this because we are born with a sinful nature. We are all guilty of violating God’s moral Law. We’ve all lied, cheated, stolen, lusted after people, been sexually active outside of marriage (adultery), hated others (a murderous heart), dishonored our parents, used God’s name with disrespect (blasphemy), and worship other gods that we have created in our own minds (idolatry). These are the sins that will determine the level of judgment we will receive should we stand guilty before God of the sin of unbelief.

Fortunately, there is Good News. God offers forgiveness for your sin of unbelief and for all the others sins you have committed against Him over the course of your entire life. And He offers is freely by His grace and mercy because He loves you.

THE WRONG WAY TO GOD
Many people are in error thinking that they can earn favor with God and/or earn forgiveness from God by the following ways:
-
Following religion
-
Being morally good
-
Doing more good than bad
-
Doing good works

But God never said that this was the way. Men in their own sin and pride made these things up in order to tell God how good they are. You can never work your way back to God. It’s not possible. If you trust in your religion, or your good works or yourself, you will be separated from God for all eternity.

THE ONLY WAY TO GOD
What you could never do on your own, Jesus Christ has already done for you. About 2,000 years ago God became a human being, in the man Jesus, and came to earth to suffer and die on a cross for the sins of the world. It was a payment for you. It was a sacrifice offering to God, a life given for the life of another. Jesus, being fully God, the Creator, and fully man at the same time, paid the price for your sin so that you can be forgiven and brought back into a right relationship with God.

Jesus said, “I am the way and the truth and the life: no man comes to the God but by me.” -John 14:6

The provision has already been made for you by God. The work to save your soul has already been done. It is finished. God did this for you because He loves you and wants you to spend eternity in heaven with him. What God wants you to do in response is to repent of your sin and of your unbelief and then believe in Jesus and His work that He did for you on the cross.

“For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son (Jesus), that whoever believes in him will not perish, but have everlasting life.” -John 3:16

Jesus died on a cross as a payment for your sin, but he rose to life again three days later to defeat death once and for all. His resurrection from His death means that we too can defeat death and live forever in heaven if we trust in the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

REPENT AND TURN TO GOD
To repent means to turn away from your sin, your religion and your unbelief and turn to God through faith in Jesus. You transfer the trust in yourself and/or your religion to trust in Jesus alone. When you do this, you’ll be forgiven of every sin you ever committed and be granted the free gift of eternal life in heaven and will come back into a personal relationship with God.

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I DIE?
We will all stand to face our Creator to account for our life when we die. The Bible says it is appointed for a man to die once and then face judgment. We are all going to stand before Jesus when we die.

All those who believed in Jesus and trusted in His finished work on the cross will be saved, avoid the judgment of God and be allowed entrance into heaven for eternity. All those who trusted in themselves and/or their religion (or both) and did not believe in Jesus and trust in Jesus alone for their salvation will be sentenced to a place of eternal judgment separated from God and loved ones for all eternity…otherwise known as Hell.

Jesus said, “I say to you, he that hears my word, and believes on him that sent me, has everlasting life, and will not come into condemnation; but has passed from death unto life.” -John 5:24

YOUR DESTINATION: A NEW BEGINNING
It’s called the new birth. Jesus called it being “born again” (see John 3:3). You become a child of God, born into God’s family, restored back into a right relationship with God, the relationship that was lost due to sin. God changes you into the person that you were designed to be and you start living out the purpose for which you were created for. You’ll be assured entrance into heaven when you die because you have become a child of God through faith in Jesus Christ.

SUMMARY
Acknowledge that you are a sinner before God and have not believed in the work of His Son Jesus that was done on the cross as a payment for your sins.

Repent, ask God for forgiveness, turn away from your sin of unbelief, and turn to Jesus. Believe in Jesus and trust alone in the work that He did on the cross for the forgiveness of your sins and for your salvation. Turn away from your religion and turn to Jesus in faith.

Transfer the trust in yourself and/or of your religion to trust alone in Jesus. It's by faith alone in Christ alone by God's grace alone that you can be saved.

You can get quietly before God and do this today. If you are sincere, and only God knows, then you will be forgiven of all your sins, be granted the free gift of eternal life in heaven that cannot be earned, God's Spirit will come down and live inside you and you will be brought back into a right relationship with God as a child of God and begin to walk in a very close and personal relationship with God.

So, the big question: When are you going to repent and trust alone in Jesus?

FINAL WORD
Following Jesus isn't about a religion that someone converts to. It's not a religious system of "do this" or "don't do that." It's about a relationship, being brought back into a right relationship with God for which you were created for. It's about un-converting from all religion and/or humanistic philosophy and entering into a personal relationship with God.
